History of JF-17 Thunder

The first PAF JF-17, also called CAC FC-1, appeared in May 2003 and soared to the sky in August of the same year. Two additional prototypes appeared and were put through some extensive flight tests before it formally be introduced to the citizens of the country on Pakistan Day, 23rd March 2007. 58% of the structure is solely the creation of PAC while the rest 42% is a mix of Chinese and Russian.

Who knew, then, that this sleek aircraft was to become the most prized possession of the Pakistan Air Force? This 3rd generation fighter aircraft was soon inducted by the Pakistan Air Force and replaced the older A-5 aircraft of the Operational Squadron.

Superior features of JF-17 Thunder

The entire structure is loaded with salient features to talk about. This lightweight, multi-role aircraft incorporates the newest BUMP intake technology for an enhanced performance. The landing gears are controlled by superior hydraulic brakes working together with an anti-skid braking system.

The cockpit escape is purposefully created safer and comfortable with the inclusion of a single-piece transparent canopy, NVG compatible cockpit and an advanced ejection seat. Pressure, temperature and humidity are optimally controlled inside the cockpit along with an effective anti-gravity system for the pilot.

The flight control system is equally impressive with the evergreen conventional controls that are further equipped with stability augmentation for improved performance. Autopilot mode is also available in the aircraft.
