Babar Azam Early Life
Babar Azam was born in Lahore on 15 October 1994. He was born in a Punjabi family and he loved to play cricket during his childhood. His older cousins Kamran and Umar Akmal made him feel attracted to cricket. However, he regards his cousins’ source of inspiration, and Babar decided to play cricket professionally.
At first, he was a ball boy, later he joined a cricket academy and decided to be a part of the Pakistan under-19 team.
Babar Azam Professional Life
Babar Azam captains the Pakistani teams in all the formats. He is a right-handed and top-ordered batsman. He even is regarded as one of the best batsmen in the world.
Babar made his ODI debut in May 2015, he was included in the ODI home series against Zimbabwe. He scored 54 runs off 60 balls. Such an impressive debut helped him to take place in both Test and ODI squads selected to play against Srilanka. In the first ODI of the four-match series he scored 62 runs and which helped Pakistan win the match. The total of the runs he scored during ODI was 139.
However, then he made a debut in the Twenty20 International on 7th September and scored 15 runs off 11 balls and helped Pakistan to win the match.
Achievements
There is a long list of Babar’s achievements. The first and the most notable achievement is that he is the no 1 ODI batsman in the world (865 points). On April 7, 2021, he became the number one ODI batsman after beating Virat Kohli.
Babar Azam cricket player also is the fastest player to score 13 ODI centuries. To date, Babar has scored 19 international centuries, 5 in Test matches and 13 in One Day Internationals, and 1 in T20I.
He was the leading Test run-scorer for Pakistan in both 2018 and 2019, and 2nd highest T20I scorer of the world in 2017.
He was named in the ICC ODI TEAM OF THE YEAR in 2017 and 2019 and as Pakistan Cricket Board’s ODI player of the year 2017.
Babar Azam cricket player signed for Bangladesh Premier League, but couldn’t make it. He also is the player of Karachi Kings in PSL.
